Give Thanks: Day 1 ~ My Marriage

"Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus."

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (New Living Translation)

I haven't committed many versus to memory (shame on me), but this is one verse that I memorized a couple of years ago when our church in Toledo was memorizing a verse a month.

There have been countless times this verse has come to mind just when I needed it and I know it is because I have committed it to memory. This is why in Deuteronomy 11:18-19 the Lord said, "Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." (NIV) With New Year's coming up, I think my resolution will be to memorize a verse a month again!

Anyway, now that Halloween is over and gone, we can move on to the next and wonderful holiday of Thanksgiving!!! Call me sentimental, but now that we have little Emrie I have been thinking of traditions I would like to have as a family. I really like the idea of making the WHOLE month of November Thanksgiving. Since she is a little young to understand it this year, I am going to start for myself and make it a habit for years to come.

I am thankful for MY MARRIAGE!!! I have a wonderful husband who values me, loves me, protects and provides for me and encourages me to be the very best Morgan I can be.

That may sound cliche, but my girlfriend and I were talking yesterday about how sad/pathetic it is that the Kardashian/Humphries union is already over. It made me appreciate how Phil and I both view our marriage as sacred.

Sure our marriage isn't perfect; we argue sometimes and disagree sometimes, but we work through our differences with respect. Our marriage is a partnership for life and we honor each other in that.

My husband is my best friend and teammate and I am extremely thankful for him and the life we have together!!!
