You Know You're A Mom When...

Maybe I am the only one who has experienced some of these, but in light of Mother's Day, I thought I would share my mom moments.

You Know You're A Mom When...

-You get excited to go grocery shopping ALONE on Friday night

-You crawl under the crib at 2 am searching for a rouge binkie like your life depends on it

-Instead of picking a shirt based on how skinny it makes you look, you decide which top will withstand spit up and tugging at the collar best

-You not only listen to Radio Disney, but know all the lyrics and artists

-Your DVR is full of Dora the Explorer, Little Einsteins and Jake and the Neverland Pirates (and you may know EVERY song from each show)

-Now you open your underwear drawer to find granny panties and nursing bras

-Every time you hear a father-daughter song you cry

-Just thinking about your daughter's wedding makes you cry

-Just thinking about your daughter at prom makes your palms sweat

-You pass a group of teenage girls you say a prayer that ankle length dresses and high collars make a comeback

-You pray even harder when you see a group of teenage boys

-All of your activities are scheduled around nap time and meals

-You only purchase pajamas that can be worn as an outfit in public

-You refer to your friends as Mr. or Mrs.

-7 am IS sleeping in on weekends

-There is a secret stash of binkies and treats in your purse

-You don't even carry a purse because the diaper bag has everything you need

-You run out of wipes while changing your baby in a public restroom so you carry them to the sink and use a wet paper towel instead.

-You clap when your kid throws something appropriate in the trash

-Every morning you wait at the door to wave goodbye to the school bus that has none of your own children on it and wait at the same door that afternoon for that same school bus to come back so you can wave hi to all the kids as they get off

-Likewise, you wait for the mail truck to come by every day so you can wave and say hi to the mail lady

-You refer to yourself as Mama and your husband as Dada

-You no longer care that your house looks like you run a daycare

-You ACTUALLY contemplate how much easier a minivan would be

-The word NO has become the foulest four letter word you ever heard

-The nurse at the pediatrician's office calls and asks for Emrie's mom and it takes a minute for you to realize she is referring to you

-You are excited for nap time so you can actually get house chores done

-Your kid's closet has more shoes and cuter clothes than yours and you're okay with that

-Weekend plans always include a trip to the park with the awesome playground

-You actually debate how long you can go without milk and eggs because a trip to the store would require more prep time than amount of time actually being there

-You haven't been in a single picture for the past 6 months, but you have 6 photo albums full of your kid

-You stopped judging other people's parenting decisions

-You took Tylenol with water from a sippy cup because it was the only liquid you had with you at the time

-Saliva became an acceptable replacement for hairspray

-You actually debate letting your kid eat the rocks, because a fight at this moment seems too insurmountable

-Staying in on a Saturday night sounds better than going out, because finding a babysitter is such a chore

-All week you just want time alone, but when your husband takes the kid on Saturday, you don't know what to do with yourself

-You no longer criticize how your mom parented you

-You FINALLY appreciate all the hard work and sacrifices your mom made for you, and pray you can do half as good of a job for your own kids!

What are your 'Mom Moments'?

Happy Mother's Day to all my mama friends and soon-to-be-mama friends out there!!!
