God must surely have a sense of humor. My first three days of stay at home mommyhood have been giving Him a pretty good laugh, I am sure.
Remember a few days ago when I said I wasn’t sure if I would have enough to keep me busy so I made a schedule. ALL of you moms were probably CRACKING UP AT ME!!!
Day 1 – I went to work WITH EMRIE for 4 hours…It should not have taken me that long, but with a baby in a pack-n-play in the conference room of a school it absolutely took FOREVER!!!
Day 2 – Emrie and I were reading a book at 9:00 am when Phil walked in the door…THROWING UP!!! In the almost 7 years I have known him he has NEVER taken a sick day from work and NEVER had the flu. I spent the day trying to make baby food while tending to him and our screaming daughter (because she wasn’t getting enough attention!)
Day 3 – Went to the mechanic to get a tune up and oil change…3 HOURS LATER I am finally driving home with a starving kid (and I am pretty hungry too) and smoke starts billowing out of the side of the hood and the car wreaks of burnt rubber. I turn around to spend another 30 minutes while they clean up the oil that had spilled on the engine making it smoke and burn.
I only have one baby, so I commend all you moms who have 2 or more!!! Hats off to you!!!
While I didn't get anything done on my list, through it all, I do feel blessed that my husband is healthy again, we can afford an oil change, I work with wonderful people who love my kid, we have great neighbors who are so caring and I was able to get my quiet time in each morning to help me prioritize through some of the chaos!
