Here is a brief overview of what our June looked like:
Memorial Day Weekend ~ We had planned to go on a family vacation to Nashville, but it turned into a stay-cation and we had a very fun weekend!
The girls worked together nicely at dinner
Aven and I enjoying ice cream after dinner
Emrie loving her ice cream after dinner
Aven catching a ride on daddy's shoulders at the farmer's market
The girls shared s'mores in the backyard
Daddy took us girls to breakfast in our pj's
Emrie got to help Nana make lunch on Memorial Day
Gracie's Tea Party ~ Emrie's friend had her 3rd birthday party and it was a darling princess tea party where all the girls dressed up like princesses. It was a hit!
Princess Gracie and Princess Emrie
Emrie was a little overwhelmed by all the excitement at first!
The tea party table
Aven got in on the action, eating all the cookies...go figure:)
Being poured her 'tea' lemonade
Oh....SHE LOVED IT! (She had never had lemonade before, so this was a BIG deal!)
Summer Swimming ~ We got to do this a lot in the beginning of June, but the end of June the weather didn't want to cooperate as much.
First time in the pool for the summer
Helpful big sister
Father's Day ~ After church and lunch we hung out at the pool (it was a little chilly) and Aven took her FIRST STEPS to Uncle Tony who was visiting from Australia!
Emrie was recovering from an ear infection and wasn't feeling so hot, but she was a trooper anyway
Oh, sweet girl
Ever the attentive daddy
The Splash Pad ~ Or as Emrie likes to call it, the splash 'patio'. There are several near us and we spent a good deal of time at them.
Not so sure about getting wet
oh, but how she loved the spray gun...and Aven is Emrie's shadow right now too:)
Sisters
Loving life
Strawberry Picking ~ Last year we went several times, this year we just went once and the harvest was a little slim, but we had fun just the same.
Sampling as we pick
Ice cream after picking is the best part
As you can see, Aven sampled so much, I'm not sure any got in her mouth:)
Ah, summer days in Indiana
Visiting the Millers ~ Our friends, the Millers, moved away in February and we finally went to visit them for the afternoon and got to see their beautiful new house. Emrie still talks about them on almost a daily basis, because she loves them so!
Teamwork
Lots of hugs to go around
He's giving kisses...practicing for when he's a big brother!
Aven's Baby Dedication ~ On June 30th, Phil and I dedicated Aven at church. It's the most important commitment we can make as parents, as we are vowing to raise her in a Christian home.
That sums up our June
Stay tuned for July....
