Mallory Is Married

WIZ BANG!

2014 has been a wild start for the Van Gelder family!

FLYING TO CALIFORNIA - We spent New Year's Day flying to California for my baby sister's wedding.  Of course, we were off to a bit of a comical start when we barely made our connecting flight in Dallas.  Picture Phil and I each caring a kid and SPRINTING through the terminal.  We made it just as they were closing the gate.  But guess what didn't make it; our luggage!  Oh well...it got to us eventually (like 12 hours later).
These sweet little girls were waiting for the luggage that never came

HANGING OUT WITH FAMILY - Anyway, New Year's Day (and my mom's birthday) we were able to get in and have an awesome afternoon of reconnecting with all my siblings. It was especially fun for my girls to spend some time with their cousin, Brody!

BRIDAL BRUNCH - My sister Torrie (who was the maid of honor) and I threw a bridal brunch on Thursday.  Torrie picked this adorable restaurant and wine shop called Bistro in Rancho Santa Fe.  The weather was cooperative at 72 and sunny so we were able to set up on the patio.  It was a really sweet time to celebrate Mallory.

REHEARSAL DINNER - Friday was mostly a relaxing day just finishing up last minute details.  There was no rehearsal because the wedding site was booked Friday night and we couldn't use it.  We just had a rehearsal dinner at the amazing Mexican place called El Adobe in San Juan Capistrano.  The banquet room was charming, the food incredible and the service was exceptional!  Unfortunately, it was way past our girls' bedtime and they melted down pretty fast.

JANUARY 4th, 2014

Mallory Albini and Tyler Karp Tie The Knot!

We all got up, ran some errands, finished all the wedding favors (wholly moly, note to self, don't wait to the last minute to do things like this), finished out hair and make up and took off to the wedding site.

When we showed up to the wedding/reception site my parents and Tyler's parents and a few other friends had done an amazing job setting up the venue.  It was so cute seeing my dad cutting flowers for the centerpieces and knowing that everyone was pitching in to make the day a success. We quickly ate lunch (In-N-Out of course) and went about preparing for pictures.

As I was a bridesmaid and Emrie and Aven were the flower girls, I didn't get to take a lot of pictures of the actual wedding day.  I can't WAIT to see the images that my sister-in-law, and wedding photographer, Danielle Albini captured of the day!

Here are some of the details I did capture (some of the pictures are courtesy of Torrie Albini).  I wish I could have taken a picture of every single hand written thing my sister Torrie did.  She literally scripted EVERYTHING from the welcome sign, to the favor tags to the seating chart...EVERYTHING!  She is so talented (and probably for hire:).

Now for the fun to begin! Torrie helped Mallory get ready and my girls were ready to walk down the aisle.

Mallory and Tyler did a first look moment.  Here was Mallory just before that moment.

GORGEOUS BRIDE!!!

Then it was time for the celebration to begin!  The ceremony was funny (Aven RAN down the isle laughing and jumped into Tyler's arms while Emrie was very serious and Brody tucked the pillow like a football) and sweet with tears as Papa Bini walked Mal down the isle and vows written by each the bride and groom.

There was only one little hiccup when the caterer did not arrive...EEEEK!  My poor mom was FREAKING out (although she keeps her composure pretty well).  They finally showed up about an hour late, but non-the-less and the food was delicious!

Then it was time for the party to start!

I wish I had pictures to show how much fun we had, but the memories are tucked away in my mind (and I can't wait to see what Danielle captured:). It was so great to catch up with old friends and family.  The wonderful evening ended when the couple rushed off for their honeymoon cruise to Mexico and the rest of us had a blast cleaning up and dancing and chatting!!!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Mallory and Tyler Karp!
I can't wait to see the plans God has for you!
