Capris Turned Shorts

I have been doing a lot of thrift store shopping lately AND LOVING IT!!!  It is amazing what you can find, if you are willing to look long enough (and if you have enough snacks to keep your kids entertained while you shop).

I found these capris for $2.  I picked them up because I liked the color and they were my size.  BUT, they were ugly!

So, I simply cut off the legs by folding them in half and cutting straight across. 

 

Then I turned them inside out and pinned them a 1/2 inch up.

Used a straight stitch all the way around to hem them and VOILA...

I did a little searching and found these other mint shorts at much steeper prices.  So for my $2 and 15 minutes of altering, I'll keep mine, thanks!
